Abstract

Maulana Abdul Haq Haqqani (RA) was born on 27 Rajab 1265 A.H (1846 A.C.) in Gamthala Garh (Rana Bahauddin).Maulana Haqqani was a great Scholar of Islam, specially in comparative studies of religions. Later on he was appointed in 1911 as Principal of Madrasa Aliya, Kalkatta. He died at Delhi in 1911.  Abstract: At the time of revelation of The Holy Quran, although Old and New Testament were not available in its original form but a number of injunctions of original Old and New Testament and same other incountable heavenly sayings were doing rounds amongst the people of the book. But those people were not following these saying as well. The tempering, which the Jews started with the Torah, was for two reasons. One was the fear of the rulers that if they would say something against them they will persecute. To counter this, it is said that:

’’فلا تخشوا الناس و اخشون‘‘

"Do not fear from the people but fear from me" (Al-Quran). The second reason was greed that they used to present divine saying in accord with the wishes of the people so that the people might award them with more reward. Hazrat Muhammad (SAS) said about it:

لا تصدقوا اھل الکتاب…

As is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari that it is not necessary that today the collection of right and wrong that is available with Christians and Jews is an original Torah. If it was real then it should have been available with the Jews of Arabs but not the one which was written after Hazrat Moses. Even the opponent could not deny its versity and it is the religion of the majority scholars of Islam and all the sects of Islam are agreed upon it. That Torah was the one which was revealed in the days of Hazrat Moses but not the one which was later produced. Allah knows well. Now days, the Christians and Jews have a Torah which is a collection of right and wrong traditions. But there is a need of more research in this regard.
