Abstract

People of the book according to the Quran are the Jews and Christians. The Quran asks the people of the book to recognize that what has come to the final Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and believe in it.Their holy books contain the prophecies about the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). But Jews and Christians became disobedient to Allah and did not accept Islam. Since Islam is a complete code of life and it provides the parameters and the principles that govern the whole human life including the relations with people of other faiths as well as the people of no faith both in the time of peace and war. This paper aims at exploring and highlighting some aspects of relations between Muslims and the people of book with focus on the study of Quranic verses in modern context.
