URDU-QURANIC PEDAGOGY: CRITICAL EXAMINATION OF TRADITIONAL AND MODERN INSTRUCTIONAL METHODS

Abstract

Understanding the Holy Qur'an is crucial for humanity, yet clarifying how an ordinary individual can directly comprehend it poses challenges. The complexity and long-term nature of Islamic sciences, coupled with the current state of the educational system, highlight the difficulties in this regard. Efforts are being made to create a more accessible approach, categorizing commonly used words in the Qur'an for streamlined memorization. Additionally, some utilize the Total Physical Interaction (TPI) method for elucidating pronouns, surpassing conventional approaches. Another modern technique involves color-coded prefixes and suffixes to enhance comprehension, enabling readers to grasp 65% to 70% of the Qur'anic meaning. Despite these innovative methods, assessing their effectiveness in facilitating the common man's understanding remains premature. This research critically evaluates these techniques, aiming to propose a new model that bridges the gap, ensuring widespread comprehension of the divine Holy book.
